Aminu Sule Lamido, one of the sons of the Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who was arrested on December 12, 2012, for money laundering was arraigned earlier today in Kano and he has been remanded in Prison custody.
The accused according to Spokesman Wilson Uwujaren of the anti-graft agency pleaded not guilty and he was remanded in Kano prison pending bail hearing tomorrow February 5, 2013.
Aminu was arrested around 12 midnight at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport as he prepared to board an Egypt Air flight to Cairo.
He was flagged after he declared $10,000 in his possession to agents of the Nigerian customs at the airport.
Further checks on him by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the airport revealed that he was in possession of $50,000.00 far higher than what he disclosed.
